An Ounce of Prevention
Part of upkeep is knowing how to look after the product. Many customers ask us: what can I do to better maintain my Lexus? The answers range from the obvious to the obscure. Let’s go through them together.
Follow your Lexus Service Maintenance Schedule.
Don’t miss out on time or mileage milestones. We’ll always remind you when you have maintenance we can see you are in need of, but your scheduled maintenance is something only you can know for sure. Help us to help your Lexus by keeping track of the schedule and letting us know when it’s time for special services.
Use your Eyes.
For goodness sake, do not ignore warning lights on your dashboard. Treat anything that comes up on your dashboard monitor as a definite issue needing your mechanic’s attention as soon as possible.
Use your Ears.
Don’t ignore odd sounds and issues. Pay attention to anything out of the ordinary and report it to your mechanic. We’re here to help you, even if that means just allaying your fears about a benign sound. Usually, when a noise is out of place of the norms of your vehicle, that is a problem. It’s always better to address the issue then to ignore it in order to carry on as if there is no problem.
Keep the fluids up to date.
Top up fluids regularly. As seasons change, many issues can cause your fluids to be depleted. Don’t ignore what’s going on under the hood of your Lexus. Top up the transmission fluid, the engine oil, the brake fluid, the coolant, the power steering, and don’t forget the windshield wiper fluid, either. These things, when neglected, can cause much bigger problems– especially the windshield wiper fluid.
Take it easy.
Your Lexus is a precise luxury vehicle. But it doesn’t self-heal, and if your driving style is abusive to the engine, it will take on damage over time. Try to relax the need to press with your vehicle. Use moderation, and remember to clean your car regularly, as a clean car is less likely to be wrecked by the driver.
