I had a great experience with A+ Japanese Auto Repair! I had a check engine light on and needed the issue fixed to pass a state inspection. They took my car the same day and even paid for my Lyft home. They found the issue and sent me a very easy to understand diagnostic report online. Everything was very transparent - they talked me though the report and outlined what it would cost to fix it. There wasn't a lot of upselling, which I've found to be very common in the industry. Justin was a total straight shooter, I really appreciated that. They had to order a part for the repair, which ended up getting delayed by the delivery company. They gave me a courtesy vehicle to use free of charge until my vehicle was ready. Communication throughout the process was great and I was really happy with the work that was done. TLDR; These guys are friendly, professional, and fair. I would 100% recommend them if you need to have some work done.

My car was under warranty at Toyota 101 and they consistently screwed up and always had some excuse as to why something was not done or not done correctly. Our close friend spoke very highly of A+ Japanese, so when Toyota 101 recommended new brakes for my car I brought it to A+ Japanese for a quote. Not only did they replace my brakes, they did it the same day for $580 less than the dealer. I have been loyal to them since then. I just had my battery replaced and they came to my house with jumper cables to get the car and returned it later with a new battery. Naeem has been my service advisor and is fantastic! He communicates well and keeps me updated on the progress and findings with my car, along with accurate estimates for repair. I don’t know any of the mechanics, but I have never had a problem with my car after bringing it to them. They are honest, knowledgeable, friendly and get the job done right the first time, for a better price than Toyota 101. They truly are A+ and worthy of the 5 star rating! Followup: We just had our other car serviced at A+ Japanese and they did it again, excellent service! My car battery was dead and Doug had Manny come over and pickup our car. All contactless! Manny came over wearing a mask on and brought our car in for diagnostics. I knew we were due to get a new battery and A+ confirmed that. They popped in a new battery and drove it back to us, wiping off the keys with a sanitizing wipe. So easy and convenient for us. I will continue to highly recommend A+ Japanese for any automobile care. And the car they just serviced is not even a Japanese made vehicle. They can do it all!

The guys here know what they are doing and are very friendly but their methods are a bit flawed in my opinion. I brought my car in for a transmission issue and after a pricey $400 diagnostic I was told that they could replace the whole valve body for $2800 which is more than half of what my car costs. It would have been cheaper to install a whole new transmission. I thought they did not have to replace the whole valve body and just replace one piece of it. They said that that was not possible and they would not consider even doing it. I ended up doing the 'impossible' repair myself which cost me about $200, half of which was just the transmission fluid. Car works fine and I did not replace the whole valve body. I am disappointed that they would not consider alternate options. They also refused to not use oem parts. I understand they have a reputation to uphold but I wish they would help the customer by using a far cheaper option.
