I was taught from an early age to be skeptical of car mechanics, but resistance has always seemed futile. A+ Japanese is the only mechanic I've taken my Acura to that hasn't left me feeling violated. After being quoted over a couple thousand dollars of work at the Acura dealership, I took it to A+ Japanese for a second opinion, and was lucky I did. They took a thorough look at my entire car for a fraction of the price and explained to me what really needed to be maintenanced, what was working perfectly fine, and what could wait another 20,000 miles. The manager I worked with (Justin) was incredibly friendly, thorough, honest, and happy to address my questions about specifics. These guys really know their stuff. I'm happy to have finally found someone I don't distrust and can have an honest conversation with about my car.

Wow, I was really surprised with some of the negative experiences expressed on Yelp. I also encountered high repair estimates, but choose to evaluate it a different way. A+ chooses to recommend a thorough repair such that your car runs like new. Part prices are comparable to other shops and the labor is a little higher than most. With that, you get stellar, competent, honest work done on your car. A 2yr/ 24k warranty is beyond other shop's warranty. Add in complementary ride to and from work/ home. Add in photographic evidence to back up their analysis, All this means a higher overhead, which is reflected in their shop rate. The bottom line: If you're here for top quality work, go to A+. If you're especially here because of major front end issues like bushings, broken or cracked axle, etc, be prepared for a sticker shock because this work is labor intensive. If you want a partial solution aka "half a***d" or a limp-along solution, then go elsewhere before destroying this shop's reputation on Yelp. You will not find service advisors like Justin Mills, Rob and Naeem. They're brutally honest, but you always have the option of declining service and going elsewhere. I had to laugh at one of the reviews concerning worn bushings. If the control arm also has play or you had a cracked axle along with the bushings and you're unable to maintain alignment, what's the point of just replacing the bushings. Just like there is a need for smart shops, owners need to be smart and realistic. Otherwise, consign yourself to leasing and changing new cars every three years. Finally, learn to be proactive and maintain your car according to schedule. You'll find that there is a lesser chance of unpleasant surprises.

I used A+ Japanese Auto Repair for the first time.I moved to RWC area a year ago and when my "check engine" light came on, i asked my friends who have lived here over 25 years - "where should i take my car?"They suggested A+ Japanese. Then in talking to a friend at work about my "check engine light" she said - GO TO A+ JAPANESE - THEY GIVE A DISCOUNT IF YOU WORK AT ELECTRONIC ARTS!!I had EXCELLENT Customer Service.they were very fast to respond - via phone or email (as i was away on vaca and left my car with them)they gave a very detailed list of what NEEDS to be fixed asap and what could wait. I liked that. I can keep that list and work on things little by little and not spend a huge amount of money all at once. The office was clean, organized, nice coffee. The service was excellent - they offer to pick you up, drop you off, while you have no wheels. very accomodating.i recommend them. i had a great experience.

Thank you so much for trying us out! We were so happy that you like the service and repair. And to top it all off you took the time to write us a review... you are great!Thank you,Eric Sevim - Owner - aplusjapaneseautorepair.…

I have been a customer of A+ Japanese Auto Repair for over 10 years, and have entrusted the care two of aging cars to them. They have always delivered expert service. I have bestowed my 286,000-mile Honda Prelude (1992) to my landscaper's son (and he loves the car). I am now the proud owner of a first-generation Toyota Prius that is closing in on 200,000 miles. A+ Japanese just installed a new fuel cell battery, and the car runs like a "youngster." I wouldn't get my car repaired anywhere else.

Mary and I have been taking both our Lexus's to Rob and his team for over 10 years and wouldn't even consider going anywhere else. Honest, dependable, thorough, courteous, skillful - these are the first adjectives that come to mind when I think "A+ Japanese Auto Repair" - Daniel & Mary Simpson - San Francisco Bay area

Thorough, polite, loved the pictures sent to my phone of the problems to be addressed. Didn't treat me like an idiot because I am a woman. No problem reviewing the work done before I paid. Good service, I'd use again.
