San Carlos Auto Repair

I have been going to a shop since I got my Land Cruiser until, I asked him to replace my PHH (pesky heater hose), he said it still looks good, but he's pointing to me a wrong hose (i'm not a gearhead but I know what it is). There is nothing wrong with it but I needed it replaced as a PM. I knew he was wrong until I went to A+ Japanese auto repair. PHH was solved. Good experience from the moment I entered the door. Customer service is excellent, even met one of the owners (Eric). Price is competitively better than any major auto shop, and, with better service. Justin is great and so is Rob. Very friendly people... They even washed my rig. Ain't that something... This is a great story for "pleasant approach, meets a pleasant response"....

I was not sure how bad my car was when I arrived at A+ Japanese Auto Repair. Then I was assisted by Justin Mills. He was spectacular! He gave a clear and concise run down of the issue with my car as well as answered all of my questions. The repairs where done quickly and where very cost effective. I will definitely be bringing my Passat back for any needed repairs in the future! Thank you Justin!

Rob is AWESOME. Basically, Jiffy Lube in San Carlos changed my oil pan without my consent. They happened to mention it at my last oil change, how kind of them (insert sarcasm). Anyways, a new oil pan + labor was going to cost me a little over $800.00. Not only would the job get done quickly, but Rob explained the whole process and even emailed me pictures. I called to give Rob my credit card info and he had some amazing news for me. A + was able to FIX the oil pan without having to replace it. Needless to say, the cost is only about $70. How do you know when you are dealing with an honest mechanic shop?? When the price of the job miraculously drops hundreds of dollars because an alternative, less expensive way to fix the problem was found. On a side note, this is not my first encounter with A+. I've known the owner, Eric, for over 10 years. Eric and his team have always been super helpful. Rob has always assisted me with the work I've needed, and I am extremely thankful for his assistance, honesty, and determination to get the job done in a timely, efficient, and honest manner. Thank you SOO much. Jiffy Lube is OUT. A+ is going to be the place I go to for oil changes from here on out.

Good Service

This place got the trick done.... Took care of my Damn Check Engine Light problem in my Mazda 3. My light went on while driving to work and randomly I drove by this shop --- I was like "hey my car is Japanese!!" -- and gave them a quick call and within 10 minutes had my car at the shop and hooked up to their Diagnostic Machine... This same problem occurred last year and it cost me about $330 this year is cost me $430 ... But with inflation and this being the bay area the price was ok ..... Thankfully they had the Yelp Deal on their site you buy a $50 certificate for $100 in work ... so the total dropped to $380.... This place was quick and easy. The office staff is very nice and would return in a pinch (hopefully my car can avoid this place like the plague.)

These guys are consistently great. Rob always takes care of me and is awesome and the best customer service person anywhere. Recently I had a flat tire, it couldn't be fixed and Rob had me on my way in 30 minutes. He tracked down a replacement tire and had me in and out the next business day. Great job team!
