San Carlos Auto Repair

I had a brake malfunction on my vehicle which stopped my car in the middle of the road. A passerby told me that he recommended A+ Japanese Auto Repair and I’m so glad he did! I had my car towed a couple miles to A+ and when I arrived Justin came out and gave the tow truck driver snacks. I thought it was the nicest thing and knew I was in good hands. Justin got my gf and I an Uber home and diagnosed my car the following Monday (Dropped off on a Saturday). I had some issues with insurance and my car was at the shop for a while. Justin was very understanding and spoke with my insurance multiple times to get the situation resolved. Justin also saved me a lot of money on the repairs which I’m extremely grateful for. I was able to get my car after hours with their convenient drop box which was a huge help as well. Justin apologized profusely for not being able to wash my car (I gave him a short notice) which stood out to me because I’ve never had a shop care about my car the way A+ has. A+ made an awful situation into an amazing experience. Thank you, guys!!

Great service and fast!

One of the few mechanics that I've been to where I didn't feel I was being swindled or milked for services I didn't need. Sure, they offered different services but they were never pushy and everything felt informative vs. salesy; no fear mongering whatsoever. They even provided me a free Lyft to work, which was a super nice touch. The only 'thing' that came up was there was a discrepancy from the quoted price on the phone vs. what they actually wanted to charge me. When I pointed that out, they simply charged me what they originally quoted without hassle. A+++ from me.

Truly one of the best Auto Shops I have ever been to. The customer service is off the chart. I went there for the first time after my check engine light came on and I can’t say enough good things. I didn’t have my car for a few days and that is the only downside. They seem to be really busy (understandably so) and after my experience with them I understand why. If you are patient and love an A+ customer care experience then this us the shop for you!

I am new to the Bay Area and my car started having some issues. I looked online fit a place to take it. After liking at a few websites I open Japanese Auto Repair. The website impressed me-it was informative, easy to navigate, local small business. That’s why I called them first. After a few minutes conversation with Justin, the service manager, i was sold! He was beyond polite, very respectful and completely transparent about initial cost and potential costs, and had us come in right away. After their initial inspection, we received a message with photographs of what they looked at on my car, identified what they thought the problem was, and gave me a list of things that needed immediate attention and those I could put off for a bit. I have never had such “upfront” detail for service. Again, impressed! We decided in the with to do now and would vegan. There was a day delay due to the wait in a needed part, and Justin called right away to notify me and apologize for the delay. (altho it was not their fault) I picked up the car and again was treated like “family”. I asked Justin fit some future car advice, and he was very informed and helpful. We will be taking our cars here from now on whenever needed and referring anyone we know to them!

Great service! Our service advisor Naeema was very helpful and transparent about what our 2005 Sienna needed. We brought it in for regular maintenance. The team at A+ Japanese Auto Seevice are friendly, efficient and thorough. Recommendations are discussed very clearly and we had a lot of confidence in their service and experience. Highly recommended.

Great as usual, been coming here for years. I have an older Honda Civic and I trust this crew to provide the services that I need at the appropriate mileage. They've continuously gone above and beyond with their service and provided I continue to live in the area, I'll continue to trust them with my Honda for the near future.

I had my Honda Civic towed there and they took care of it and fixed it. I was out of town so couldn’t meet with the directly. Might be 5-stars but it took longer than originally expected. But, that’s because they had to order parts and fixing was more complicated apparently. Very nice people who called when they said they would. All very professional! UPDATE: five stars - once again A+ responded quickly and professionally. great work fellas.
