San Carlos Auto Repair

I took my car to A+ for an oil change, windshield replacement and because I had noticed a slightly vibrating in my steering wheel when driving at freeway speeds. My tech was Paul and I worked with Eric in the front office. Turned out that I needed a bearing and hub replaced on my front left tire, my front brakes needed to be replaced and my back brakes were dirty. I was a little stunned by all the work that needed to be done to my car and was dreading how much all this work was going to cost me. I had a number in mind (that I didn't share with them) and the final cost turned out to be right in line with that price. What I really appreciate about A+ is that they take the time to explain things to me, as a woman it can be really.... I guess awkward is the best word... to go into an auto shop and try to explain what is going on with your car and have a good understanding of what the techs diagnose. Too often I have felt that the techs in other shops felt that they were wasting their time explaining the repairs to me, I don't like to speculate, but I felt that if I were a man, I wouldn't have been treated that way by other shops. I felt that the explanation I received from Paul and Eric helped me understand more about the parts of my car and will help me in the future when it comes time for more repair work. Paul even showed/explained to me the work that was going to be done on my car prior to the repairs. And at no point did I feel that they thought they were wasting their time explaining things to me or answering my questions. It was comforting.Additionally they checked my oil and determined that it was still clean and could probably go another couple months before it needed to be changed, I appreciated the fact that they didn't do an unnecessary service. A+ has experienced technicians who are all certified specialists. They can figure out your issue and address it at the lowest possible cost. The office and working areas are very clean and organized. I checked around on 60K service, many of the dealers quote a high price even though many items are just "inspect". A+ did only what was needed for a lot less money.

A+ helped me on a Saturday 2 hours after closing. I talked with the owner and felt that this is his business, and he loves it, and he likes helping people, and he likes doing a great job and his prices were great, service was great - the whole experience was really A+.

I tried several auto mechanics before I found A+ Japanese Auto Repair. I checked out A+ after finding them on Yelp and I have found them to exceptional. They are friendly and take the time to review exactly the work that has been completed and give recommendations on items that should be repaired in the future. My car is ten year old and they have have been very honest in the work that is urgent to repair and the work that can wait. A+ provides great service.

The first thing I noticed when I walked into the office was how tidy and professional it was. In fact, this is the cleanest auto shop office I've been to in memory. I'm sure you know what I'm talking about - I'm usually hesitant to touch anything at most auto repair shops. Rob was extremely friendly and got my paperwork started at his desk right away. Work was completed in a reasonable time frame, and Rob took the time to explain the work performed in conjunction with the oil change and point out the warranty period of all work performed (even though this was just an oil change). The price A+ charged was very reasonable as well. Overall, I was very satisfied with the level of service I received. They've won my business and will be taking my car here in the future.
