MAJOR UPDATE: I received a call from A+ - they agreed and have refunded the amount. I am truly delighted and they now have a customer for life! Previous: Not happy about recent repair: we feel we paid for their mistake. Took our car in to have a whine diagnosed and repaired. Their diagnosis was that the alternator needed to be replaced. Paid $695 for a refurbished alternator. Starting the car the next morning the sound was still present, no change from before. Took the car in again. Was told "there were three sounds: alternator, transmission, and power steering. Don't need to do anything about the transmission or power steering at this point..." Was also told that the alternator was definitely making a sound and needed replacement - there is no way for me to know if this was really true or not, but I suspect not. The end result is I have a refurbished alternator for $695 with no audible improvement. I suspect they simply were unwiling to admit or consider that their diagnosis was in error. At this point, I'm not planning to return. Really disappointed.

My granddaughter's Audi broke down in Redwood City on Christmas Eve day and was towed, supposedly to San Carlos German Auto Works. Much to our surprise when we called them the day after Christmas---no car!! Tow truck driver took it to A+Japanese Auto Repair (!!??!) But--it turned out to be a great mistake; Rob and crew diagnosed the problem (transmission shot; probably the clutch, too) and took great pains locating a good, used transmission for us. We decided the car wasn't worth repairing, so paid only the very reasonable diagnostic fee. Will we use A+ Japanese Auto Repair in the future for our cars? You bet!

Call me a genius, but I think these guys work on Toyotas. So when my 97 Land Cruiser started having a leak at the sunroof, I found salvation from these guys. Not too many shops will mess with it but after talking to Eric, he knew exactly what the problem might be and had experience remedying the problem. The price was very fair given the work they had to do. Good stuff guys!
