My first few experiences here were okay but seemed to go downhill after they put on new tires. The tire pressure sensor lights went on constantly. Anytime I came back with this issue though, I felt like I was treated like a moron, treated impatiently when I tried to ask simple questions about how things worked or why they would happen, and mansplained to. For example: On one occasion, I was lectured on how air pressure changes can cause the light to go on, etc. etc. and told it must be that I have never had a car with a tire pressure sensor because there was absolutely nothing wrong with my tires. They said they topped off the tire with air and there was nothing wrong with it. Well, guess what? The next day, the tire was flat. I brought it to Beltran only to find that A+ missed a very large, visible screw in it that Beltran removed and patched. How in the HELL do you miss that? I called Naim who offered a free future oil change for my hassle which, I later found out, I couldn't include with service I was trying to schedule and also told that my car had to be left an ENTIRE weekend there to be performed (as well as paying $35 a day for a rental car while they did said service.) Here I was actually trying to give them more money than just the oil change and give them another chance. I ended up giving up and have found somewhere else to go. I will mention I was also repeatedly told that the sensors could have an issue even when there was a legitimate problem with the tire pressure each time which made no sense and in fact, ultimately after about 5 visits, they finally checked the sensors and agreed there was no problem. I should note I called Toyota who told me the sensors blink if they are shorting- they don't stay solid as mine did. The last time the sensor light went on with the tires, it turned out no one at A+ had thought to check the spare which has a sensor and the air was low in that tire.

After a few bumps sending my car back here several times, Naeem ordered custom diagnostic equipment to find out exactly what was wrong with my 20-year-old Honda beater car. It took several tries but their commitment and service is commendable. And my car has been problem-free since the last visit, so I guess the custom equipment made the difference! All good now.

Getting good customer service, especially when dealing with vehicle repairs, is rare. I have never experienced such responsive and amazing customer service ever. Follow up phones calls, realistic discussions and always doing what is promised and going above and beyond. A+ has a permanent customer in me!

When my 2012 Hyundai Sonata unexpectedly refused to start last weekend, even after various valiant attempts to get it going, we turned to A+ Japanese Auto Repair in San Carlos. We had not used A+ before but online reviews and a good conversation with them about the situation convinced us to try. And I'm very happy that we did. Their auto service was excellent as was their customer service. They diagnosed the issues fairly rapidly, phoned me multiple times to discuss along the way, performed the repair needed for the original problem (as well as a couple of others that came to light in their inspection) , thoroughly tested everything, and then reviewed all aspects of the maintenance performed when I arrived to pick up the car. Everyone we dealt with on the A+ team was professional, friendly, knowledgeable, and customer-focused. I definitely will turn to A+ the next time we need to have that car serviced.

The level of customer service and commitment to promptly getting cars back on the road in tip-top shape cannot be beat! We have brought our car here twice now, being helped by both Justin and Naeem, and we could not have had a better experience. They were honest, courteous, and kept us informed throughout the whole process. We will certainly have no hesitation going back for any future repairs or maintenance.

A+ is, hands down, the best in the area. With a consistent and quality based work ethic, honesty with their customers, and range of amenities (from free coffee, to using a shop car, to a ride to work, to insanely low rental fees if needed, to giving you the best deal possible for the work) it is not surprising they consistently receive high praise. I've had them look at 2 different cars for much different reasons and they were always on the money with their diagnosis as well as what was most meaningful via. recommended work. The entire staff is kind and thoughtful and I will be enlisting their services as long as I am living in Palo Alto.

My wife and I are impressed with the very high level of courtesy and obvious commitment to customer service. My car's needed repairs were thoroughly explained to me and I never felt pressured. A plus Japanese repairs is our first choice. One more visit later: what I said before still goes. Extremely considerate courteous treatment. Donna really lights up the room. My only gripe is that they need more parking space. Overall, very efficient and thoughtful.
