I had a transmission problem with my Infiniti G35. They required a major service that costs $300 just to diagnose the problem. My regular tune-up was about due so I agreed. They said my transmission fluid needed to be replaced, which I approved. They also said my battery was weak and refused to recharge it, so I had to replace it. One month later, I'm still having transmission problems - I cannot shift gears sometimes after driving for 1+ hour. My ignition also sometimes take more than 1 try to start the engine. My car had about 25K miles so it shouldn't be having these problems. The front desk and transport staff were talkative and friendly; they will try to sound like they did a lot of things by listing all the minor things they did that each took 1 minute (ie: top off fluids, check tire pressure). I do not want to pay $600 for a tune-up with a fluid flush; I want my car repaired and transmission problem diagnosed. Total waste of money.
Hi Francis, Thank you for your review. I have checked the history of your service work at the shop. Unfortunately, our service advisor who worked with you, Rob Lucas, has moved out of the area but I am the owner and happy to work with you regarding your issues with the vehicle. It looks like we worked with your 2005 Infiniti G35 just about 4 years ago in Sept 2013. We did do the battery because it failed the load test, cleaned and resecured the leaking hose clamps, drained and refilled the transmission oil due to the short driving trips and the time that the oil has been in the car (8 years without a change). I don't see any notes regarding the ignition concern about not being able to start the vehicle. I would recommend to check the brake lamp switch as they have commonly failed on Nissan and Infiniti products but wouldn't be 100% sure without checking it out. I am sorry to hear that you are having so many problems with a car that has such low miles on it! There are possibly computer updates that can be done which may help the transmission shifting concern and I would be happy to look that up for you if you'd like. Also, I don't see a charge to diagnose a transmission problem at the time of the work in 2013. There is actually no mention of it on the paperwork but I would be happy to help with any information if you'd like. The only charges and notes that I have found were related to the minor service, the coolant hose clamps, the transmission drain and fill, the 8 year old battery replacement, as well as the regular no charge items of topping off all fluids and tire pressure, checking the lights, and a visual inspection of all the components under the hood. Please feel free to call me if I can help with anything on your Infiniti. My hope is to help you with whatever I can and would be happy to start with a phone call 650-946-1856, email: [email protected], or chat here. All the best and look forward to help.
